The awards breakfast will honor 12 local businesses from four different categories as finalists of the 2016 Small Business of the Year Awards. Categories include businesses with 1-10 employees, 11-50 employees, 51-200 employees, and New Kid on the Block, which celebrates businesses in operation for less than three years.

To receive a Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award, the company must be a member of the Fort Collins Area Chamber of Commerce at the time the award is presented.

Businesses will be judged on four criteria: community involvement and stewardship, commitment to good business practices, overall business growth and innovation, and workplace culture and employee relations.

The event kicks off a day of celebrating local small businesses and will continue with the annual Business After Hours Tradeshow from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m., also at the Fort Collins Marriott, 350 E. Horsetooth Road.

Tickets for the awards breakfast are now available for purchase for $40 for individual members, $50 for non-members or $350 for a table of 10. Booth space is also available for the After Hours Tradeshow and both can be purchased at fortcollinschamber.com or by calling (970) 482-3746.

The Small Business of the Year Awards are underwritten by First National Bank, JAX Mercantile, Mantooth Marketing Company, The Light Center, Hunt, Spillman & Associates, P.C., Total Facility Care, Coan, Payton & Payne, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
