Friday November 15, 2013 0 commentsFORT COLLINS - Riverside Technology Inc., an industry leader in the design and implementation of integrated scientific, engineering and IT solutions, has been awarded $58 million in multiple federal contract orders, the company announced.
The orders are from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for Observers Program services to the Southeast Fisheries Science Center (SEFSC).
The work awarded to Riverside under the Scientific, Technical Support Services contract will be performed by Riverside in partnership with IAP World Services Inc., the company said.
The NMFS Observers Program monitors 47 fisheries programs that log more than 77,000 observer days at sea each year, collecting data for a range of conservation and management issues.
"Riverside's exceptional technical expertise combined with their dedication to customer service made them the perfect partner for this work," said William Thomas, IAP director of professional and technical services.
Tasks to be performed by Riverside and IAP include collecting marine data year-round in the South Atlantic, Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean.
"The tasks involved are significant and essential to the balance of marine life and commerce and, ultimately, promote sustainability for these areas," said George Smith, Riverside's Sci-Tech program manager.
"The Riverside team is proud to be part of such an important environmental program, said Larry Brazil, Riverside CEO.
"We are especially appreciative of the opportunity to support the SEFSC Observer Program Outreach aspect of the contract, working with not only vessels and crew but also communities and education institutions to better understand the positive aspects on the fishing industry of the results of the data collected by fisheries observers."
