Net Zero Cities conference Oct. 23-24 announces free registration, C3E launch

Net Zero Cities logoFORT COLLINS - Registration is now free for the 2013 Net Zero Cities Conference to be held in Fort Collins Oct. 23-24, organizers announced.

The "Water-Energy Nexus" is the theme of this year's conference to be held at the Fort Collins Lincoln Center, 417 W. Magnolia St.

The two-day event features keynote speakers that include Steve Maxwell, author of "The Future of Water," on Oct. 23, and Charbel Aoun, senior VP for Global Smart Cities at Schneider Electric and Fort ZED on Oct. 24.

Throughout the event, a wide variety of panel discussions will be held on topics including Net Zero water and energy use, transportation innovations, Smart Cities, carbon reduction, energy efficiency and urban design.

On Oct. 23, the official launch of the Colorado Clean Energy Education and Empowerment (C3E) will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. at Rocky Mountain Innosphere, 320 E. Vine Drive.

C3E is an initiative of the Colorado Clean Energy Cluster and is part of a global effort to advance women's leadership in the clean energy field.

Sponsors of the conference include Colorado Clean Energy Cluster, the cities of Fort Collins, Loveland and Boulder and BizWest Media.

While registration is free, events are filling up fast and early registration is encouraged.
