WESTMINSTER - Surefire Medical Inc. announced it has appointed Beverly Huss to its board of directors.
"Beverly's experience in developing minimally invasive approaches to treating obesity as an alternative to bariatric surgery, which Surefire Medical is exploring, is a great asset to our company and its plans for growth into new markets," said James E. Chomas, Surefire's president and CEO.
"We are also very fortunate to benefit from her lengthy experience in bringing to market new, rapidly adopted medical technologies."
Huss is president and CEO of therapeutic temperature management startup Qool Therapeutics. She previously served as CEO of Vibrynt Inc., a company that developed an innovative, minimally invasive therapeutic device for treating morbid obesity.
Prior to that, she spent 20 years at Guidant Corp., rising from guide wire engineer to VP of several company divisions.
"I look forward to working with Surefire Medical's high-caliber board and a company that is rapidly advancing minimally invasive, target treatments with a unique and very promising interventional approach," Huss said.
