DENVER - Denver is rated the No. 6 city in the nation on the NerdWallet list of "Best Cities for Job Seekers in 2015."
Denver scored the No. 6 rating on NerdWallet's top 100 American cities list for job opportunities.
The ratings were based on job availability, workforce growth and affordability.
"The Mile High City scored better than the national averages in all three metrics we analyzed," said Sreeker Jasthi, NerdWallet blogger. "Residents here make about $45,242 a year, which is the third-highest in our top 10.
"In addition to the Denver Public School District and state and local governments, the city's employers include the USDA National Finance Center, Denver Health and United Airlines."
The study noted that, with a slow but steady economic recovery and low unemployment, Americans are looking for places to find their next job.
NerdWallet's Top 10 cities for jobs seekers are:

- Fort Worth
- Charlotte, N.C.
- Columbus, Ohio
- Greensboro, N.C.
- Portland, Ore.
- Oklahoma City
