DaVita named by Fortune Magazine one of World's Most Admired companies, No. 1 in innovation

Davita logoDENVER - DaVita, a division of DaVita HealthCare Partners Inc. (NYSE: DVA) and a leading provider of kidney care services, has been recognized as one of Fortune Magazine's Most Admired Companies in 2014, DaVita announced.

This year marks the fifth consecutive year DaVita has been ranked No. 1 in innovation for health care facilities and the ninth consecutive year the company has been named as one of the World's Most Admired Companies by Fortune.

"Being recognized by Fortune for the ninth consecutive year is huge honor," said Kent Thiry, co-chair and CEO of DaVita HealthCare Partners. "This affirms our belief that putting the quality of life of our patients and teammates first makes a difference as we strive to be a top innovator in health care."

Fortune surveys company execs, board members and industry analysts to compile its ranking, DaVita said. Other business aspects used for the ratings were people management, use of corporate assets, quality of management, financial soundness, long-term investment and global competitiveness.

The Fortune list of the World's Most Admired Companies includes such giants as Amazon, Apple and Johnson & Johnson.
