Webroot captures No. 2 spot in U.S.retail security software market
Monday November 5, 2012

BROOMFIELD - Webroot today announced it now owns 31 percent of the U.S. retail security software market, representing a 17-point increase since launching its Webroot SecureAnywhere product in October 2011.
The new marketplace position is based on October 2012 data from The NPD Group, Webroot said.
The No.2 position includes a 16-point unit share lead over the No. 3 brand and signifies continued momentum for Webroot, the company said, which recently released its 2013 line of security solutions and partnered with Facebook.
"We are thrilled to take the second place position, but we are far from complacent," said David Bennett, Webroot's vice president of worldwide customer sales.
"Our teams are even more driven to make Webroot the No. 1 choice in online security for customers in the U.S. and worldwide."
Webroot recently released Webroot SecureAnywhere Antivirus 2013 and Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete 2013, which earned PC Magazine Editors' Choice Awards in the antivirus and suits categories.
