PORTLAND, Ore. - Vestas announced it has received a 24-MW order for 12 V100-2.0 MW wind turbines from juwi Wind Canada Ltd. for four projects in Nova Scotia.

Vestas' Brighton nacelle factory in Colorado will produce the hubs and nacelles for the projects while the blades and towers will be manufactured in the company's European factories.

Deliveries for all four projects are expected to occur in mid-2014 with commissioning in the second half of the year, Vestas said.

"We welcome juwi Wind as a new North American customer for Vestas and are confident they will achieve great return on its investment with the V100-2.0 MW," said Chris Brown, president of Vestas' sales and service division in Canada and the U.S.

Vestas said it has received over 900 MW in orders so far in 2013 in the U.S. and Canada among four of its turbine types.

Juwi Wind's North American wind operations are based in Boulder.
