BOULDER - TapInfluence has named Silicon Valley tech executive Promise Phelon as its CEO.

Phelon replaces co-founder Rustin Banks, who will remain on the company's board of directors and assume the role of chief product officer.

Phelon brings extensive experience leading high-growth technology companies in rapidly evolving industries with a history of high-profile exits. Her expertise includes software-as-a-service (SaaS) growth, raising institutional capital, product innovation, and building loyal teams that drive market transformation.

"I joined TapInfluence because of Rustin's pioneering vision and mission to transform the old model of advertising," said Phelon. "The company is growing rapidly because they solve the biggest problem facing marketers today: predictably translating influence into opportunity. Taking a company from an emerging startup to an industry leader is my passion which made leaving Silicon Valley for Boulder, Colorado an exciting proposition."

TapInfluence logoPhelon was most recently chief revenue officer of the Resumator, leading sales, marketing, business development and customer success. She led the company through successful revenue growth and significant financing.

Prior to the Resumator, Phelon was founder and CEO of The Phelon Group, a rapid-growth technology-enabled services company that reached eight-figure revenues and was acquired in 2009. She also served as CEO of UpMo, an enterprise talent management SaaS system used by some of the world's largest enterprises, where she again drove high-impact growth, substantial financing, and product strategy.

Phelon was an early employee at BEA Systems (ORCL), helping to lead product management and product marketing.

"Hitting the bullseye in a rapidly-changing, fast-growing industry requires relentless focus and execution, and an obsession for attracting winning talent, which is exactly why we wanted Promise," said Kirk Holland, TapInfluence board member and managing partner with Access Venture Partners, one of the company's investors.

"With her background and experience, leading TapInfluence during this next phase of growth was the perfect opportunity for both TapInfluence and Promise."

TapInfluence is the leading SaaS platform licensed by marketers to automate the time-consuming and manual process of finding relevant digital influencers (those with key audiences on blogs, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube, Vine and SnapChat) and collaborating with them to create meaningful, consumer-trusted content.

The cloud-based software provides a single workflow system that enables brands and agencies to co-create branded content with influencers, distribute that content across social platforms and brand sites, and access detailed analytics to measure the actual monetary value and ROI.

TapInfluence customers include Microsoft, Proctor & Gamble, Kraft, Coca-Cola, RedBox, Burts Bees, and hundreds of consumer brands and agencies.
