DENVER - SpotXchange, a platform for video advertising, announced it is accelerating its expansion into Europe following RTL Group's acquisition of 65 percent of the company.
SpotXchange said it will form a strategic platform partnership with Germany-based Netzathletan Media, which will rely exclusively on SpotXchange's supply side technology to connect and control the video inventory of the publishers bundled in 10 content networks at Netzathleten Media.
The two partners also intend to cooperate closely on developing innovative forms of video advertising to create additional revenue opportunities and cater to the particular appetite and needs of content networks, SpotXchange said.
SpotXchange said it has also formed a strategic partnership with RTL Nederland's Videostrip, the leading online video advertising network in the Netherlands.
With more than 10,000 employees and $8 billion in annual revenue, RTL Group is one of the largest global producers of entertainment content, with interests in 53 TV channels and 28 radio stations.
"RTL Group's investment in SpotXchange represents a huge opportunity to accelerate our growth, particularly in Europe, and further advance our goal of becoming the leading comprehensive video advertising monetization platform across desktop, mobile and connected TV for premium publishers worldwide," said Michael Shehan, SpotXchange CEO.
