BOULDER - SendGrid, a leading email delivery service for the world's wanted email, announced that Sameer Dholakia, former group VP and GM of the Cloud Platforms Group at Citrix, has joined the company as its new CEO and member of the board of directors.

Dholakia replaces former CEO Jim Franklin, who served in that role since 2011.

"Jim Franklin has been instrumental in the growth and success of SendGrid over the last few years," said Isaac Saldana, SendGrid founder and president.

"Under his leadership, SendGrid has evolved from a startup with 20 employees and several thousand customers to where we are today - an industry leader in email delivery with over 250 employees and over 175,000 customers.

"We're excited to bring in Sameer to build on this strong foundation and lead the next phase of our growth."

Dholakia has more than 20 years of experience in successfully bringing high-growth, disruptive cloud and enterprise software solutions to market and has held key positions in sales, business development and product management at several leading tech companies, SendGrid said.

"SendGrid has an incredibly bright future and I am honored to join the team," Dholakia said. "With the combined foundation of SendGrid's superior technology, dedicated team and industry-leading customer support, we are well positioned for future success."
