GREELEY - Former Rocky Mountain Innosphere chief operating officer Ryan Speir has been named director of the University of Northern Colorado's Monfort College of Business incubator program, UNC announced.
"Ryan has more than 20 years of experience ins sales, marketing and funding for startup and growth-stage companies," said Don Gudmundson, Monfort College dean.
"With him at the helm, our new business incubator program will be positioned to support economic growth in Northern Colorado."
Speir served in a variety of capacities at RMI from 2006-2012, including chief operating office and interim CEO.
He is also on the editorial board of the Northern Colorado Business Report and serves on the Colorado State Office of Economic Development and International Trade Steering and Tactical Committee for Electronics.
Speir is also a popular speaker and advisor for angel investment and business advisory groups and technology companies.
Monfort's new business incubator program aims to help nurture and grow entrepreneurial business ventures in Northern Colorado.
"It will supplement efforts already in place by the City of Greeley Economic Development Department, Upstate Colorado, the Northeast-East Central Small Business Development Center, area chambers of commerce, the Downtown Development Authority and, of course, the Monfort College of Business Entrepreneurial Challenge," Gudmundson said.
The new UNC business incubator will be launched this fall.
