Fast Company's annual guide highlights the most innovative businesses that have positively impacted both industry and culture.
"We are very excited and honored to be included in Fast Company's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Consumer Electronics," said Paul Berberian, Orbotix CEO.
"The toy industry is going through a major revolution and leading the way for connected play is our passion. So to be recognized at this level for something we love to do every day means a great deal to us all."
Orbotix has been blending robotics and software since 2010 to create innovative experiences for the whole family, the company said.
At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last month, Orbotix announced its newest toy - nicknamed 2B until its official name is released later this year.
Like Sphero, 2B is a programmable and customizable robot that can travel up to 14 feet per second and can do amazing high-speed tricks and jumps, Orbotix said.
The new toy is expected to be ready for retail sale by Fall.
Orbotix said it is now selling Sphero in more than 70 countries - up from seven in 2013.
