BOULDER - Lightning Eliminators and Consultants Inc. (LEC), a supplier of integrated lightning protection and prevention products, announced it has been awarded the President's "E" Award for U.S. Exports.

The award recognizes organizations that make significant contributions in increasing U.S. exports.

Avram Saunders, Lightning Eliminators CEO, received the award in Washington, D.C. from Acting Secretary of Commerce Rebecca M. Blank.

"Over the past four year, our export business has grown 183 percent and we're now doing business in more than 70 countries," Saunders said. "Sales to international markets represented more than half of our total 2012 revenue."

Companies are nominated for the "E" Award through the Department of Commerce's U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service Office network, located in the Department's International Trade Administration.

"I am delighted to be recognizing this year's Presidential "E" Award winners for their outstanding contributions to U.S. exports and congratulate Lightning Eliminators and Consultants on its outstanding export achievement," Secretary Blank said.

"It is businesses like LEC that are strengthening the economies of local communities, creating jobs and contributing to the worldwide demand for 'Made in the USA' goods and services."

Lightning Eliminators also received congratulations from Colorado Senators Mark Udall and Michael Bennet and Congressman Jared Polis.
