BROOMFIELD - Level 3 Communications (NYSE: LVLT) announced the addition of HP Helion Managed Cloud Service to the Level 3 Cloud Solutions ecosystem, which allows enterprises and government agencies to establish secure connections to HP Helion Managed Cloud Service using Level 3's Virtual Private Network (VPN) and security services in North America, Latin America and Europe.
The alliance provides Level 3 and HP customers worldwide with a reliable and flexible path to migrate and manage mission-critical applications and data in the cloud, Level 3 said.
"The combination of HP and Level 3 delivers the tools for customers to transform their IT and network architecture in the cloud," said Anthony Christie, Level 3 CMO.
"By forging relationships with the most respected brands in the cloud services industry, like HP, enterprises can execute their cloud strategies with confidence in the performance of their cloud environments, allowing customers to focus on the growth of their business."
Level 3 said its Cloud Connect Solutions offers VPN connectivity built directly into HP Helion Managed Cloud Service.
"Effective management and security of business-critical data are key concerns among enterprises today, so it remains imperative for HP to deliver and protect core business applications in the cloud," said Jim Fanella, HP Enterprise Services VP for workload and cloud.
"The combination of HP Helion and Level 3 Cloud Connect Solutions provides customers with needed security, control and responsiveness to meet the changing demands of their business."
Level 3 said the services should be available in North America during the last quarter of 2014 with global service available in the first half of 2015.
