Wednesday August 7, 2013 0 commentsDENVER - Intermap, a provider of geospatial solutions on-demand from its high-resolution 3D digital models of the Earth, announced it was awarded a $3.5 million contract to create an airborne radar mapping services solution.
Intermap said it will use its proprietary Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (IFSAR) technology to collect orthorectified radar imagery and high-resolution elevation data to enhance the unidentified customer's existing geospatial map database.
The new dataset will be used for improved disaster planning, resource management, security and infrastructure planning, Intermap said.
The project is scheduled to begin immediately with final delivery of the dataset expected to be substantially complete by the end of the first quarter 2014.
"Because of its unique capabilities, Intermap's IFASAR radar mapping technology is considered to be the best and most reliable approach for the customer's requirements," said Todd Oseth, Intermap's president and CEO.
