FORT COLLINS/BOULDER - Fort Collins was No. 8 and Boulder was No. 9 on the ZipRecruiter list of Top 10 cities to find a job in America.
Fort Collins' 3.2 percent November unemployment rate was cited as one of the city's advantages, as well as its proximity to Denver and being the economic center of the Northern Colorado region. The list also noted Colorado State University's presence, which is helping drive innovation through R&D and spinning off local jobs.
Key sectors of Fort Collins' economy include manufacturing, high tech, higher education and state and federal government.
Boulder's November unemployment rate was also 3.2 percent and is even closer to Denver, the New York-based ZipRecruiter survey noted, along with the presence of the University of Colorado.
Key hiring sectors in Boulder include education, government, tech and manufacturing, with small and medium-size businesses making an outsized contribution to hiring, ZipRecruiter said.
