Ecotech Institute appoints Chris Gorrie new president

Ecotech Institute logoDENVER - Ecotech Institute, the first and only college in the U.S. solely focused on renewable energy and sustainability, announced Chris Gorrie as its new president.

Gorrie has been with Ecotech since 2010, first as an instructor, then program director for the Electrical Engineering Technology program and most recently as academic dean.

Prior to joining Ecotech, Gorrie worked at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, where he developed raw materials for use in transparent electronics and photovoltaics.

"Chris demonstrates a true passion for the education of our students, their success and Ecotech Institute's mission," said Tom Moore, CEO, Education Corp. of America, Ecotech's parent company.

"His experience and leadership at Ecotech Institute makes him the ideal person to lead the school. Chris will be responsible for continuing the growth of the college and ensuring that we produce the very best graduates in renewable energy education."
