Donald Smith named Ecotech Institute director of electrical engineering, power utility programs

Ecotech Institute logoDENVER - Ecotech Institute announced Donald Smith has been named the school's new program director of both its Electrical Engineering Technology and Power Utility Technician programs.

Smith will be responsible for assuring all students gain the most hands-on and applicable knowledge possible while preparing to enter the renewable energy job market, Ecotech said.

Smith is an electronics industry veteran who has more than 15 years of experience teaching electronics, computer programming, computer networking and software design.

"Donald has so much life experience to offer our students," said Chris Gorrie, Ecotech president. "His experiences and background in education make him an excellent source of knowledge for our students to tap into and take advantage of."

Smith has a bachelor's degree from Westwood College and an associate's degree in electronics from ITT.
