ENGLEWOOD - DISH's Hopper Whole-Home DVR entertainment platform received the "Best Customer Premise Technology" award during the International Broadcasters Convention 2013 held in Amsterdam, the company announced.
The Hopper allows DISH customers to record TV programs and play them without commercials.
"Hopper is the industry's most awarded DVR, and the best home technology at IBC reaffirms its superiority," said Vivek Khemka, DISH senior VP of product.
"While the Hopper is currently only found in the U.S., we are honored that the international community has concurred and recognized it with this award."
The Cable and Satellite International awards, sponsored by Cable Satellite International Magazine, recognize innovation in the cable, satellite, broadcast, IPTV, telco, Internet/OTT video, mobile TV and associated industries.
DISH's Hopper was also nominated in five other categories, DISH said.
Earlier this year, the Hopper was a co-winner of the "Best of Show" award at the International Consumer Electronics Show 2013 in Las Vegas and received the "Editors' Choice" award from PC Mag.
