Denver places No. 6 on Forbes annual ranking of fastest-growing cities

Metro Denver placed No. 6 on this year's list - up from No. 16 last year.
Forbes said Denver's population growth was 1.75 percent in 2013, but its ranking is also based on job growth rates, unemployment rates, growth in gross metro product and median salaries for college-educated workers.
Austin, Tex. topped the Forbes list for the fourth consecutive year.
The Top 10 fastest-growing cities (metro areas) on the list are:
- No. 1--Austin, 2.5 percent population growth
- No. 2--Raleigh, 2.15 percent
- No. 3--Phoenix, 1.67 percent
- No. 4--Dallas, 1.91 percent
- No. 5--Salt Lake City, 1.33 percent
- No. 6--Denver, 1.75 percent
- No. 7--Ogden, 2.05 percent
- No. 8--Charlotte, N.C., 1.92 percent
- No. 9--Orlando, 1.82 percent
- No. 10--Houston, 1.82 percent
