Wednesday October 30, 2013 0 commentsCOLORADO SPRINGS - Colorado Springs Technology Incubator (CSTI) and High Altitude Investors will host MashUp on Nov. 20 at the Bristol Brewery in historic Ivywild School, CSTI announced.
MashUp, a quarterly event, brings together local entrepreneurs, peers, investors and others for an interactive gathering that provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs to connect with investors and grow their business network.
The event, from 5:30-7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
"I'm very excited to be kicking off the MashUp series," said Dr. Ric Denton, CSTI's CEO. "Our region is rich with entrepreneurial activity that we wish to cultivate.
"Unfortunately, there's a lot of misinformation regarding startup best practices, which can cost companies thousands in legal and accounting fees. MashUp is built around a shared belief that a fledgling business is far more likely to succeed when aspiring entrepreneurs are matched with proven experience and skilled mentors.
"Our larger objective is to foster a climate that encourages entrepreneurial growth, which is a key to our community's economic vitality."
"MashUp is not just about connecting with a lot of people, but with the right people," added Chris Blees, High Altitude Investors co-chair.
"By vetting out quality mentors and investors, MashUp provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to connect with high-caliber people with 'been-there-done-that' experience who are committed to their success."
Bristol Brewing is located at 1604 S. Cascade Ave. Space is limited and registration for the event is required.
