ENGLEWOOD -- Arrow Electronics Inc. (NYSE: ARW) announced it has signed a definitive agreement in which Arrow will acquire Computerlinks, a Germany-based distributor with a comprehensive offering of IT solutions from many of the world's leading technology suppliers.
Headquartered in Munich, Computerlinks has operations in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. Sales in 2013 are estimated at approximately $950 million.
Arrow said the purchase price is approximately $300 million.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in Q4 2013, Arrow said.
"This acquisition supports our strategy to serve the data center of the future and strengthens our position in this rapidly growing segment," said Michael J. Long, Arrow's chairman, president and CEO.
Arrow serves as a supply channel for more than 100,000 OEM, contract manufacturers and commercial customers through a global network of more than 470 locations in 55 nations.
