Vestas Wind Systems receives 83-turbine order from RES Americas for Minnesota project

Vestas logo featuredPORTLAND, Ore. - Vestas Wind Systems announced it has received an order from Broomfield-based Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. for 83 V100 2.0 wind turbines for the 200 MW Pleasant Valley Wind Project in Minnesota.

The 166 MW order is the final portion of a 2013 RES Americas order for multiple U.S. projects with a total potential of 610 MW.

"Vestas is extremely pleased that RES Americas has now finalized the (master supply agreement), either through orders placed directly with Vestas or via projects transferred to other customers," said Chris Brown, president of Vestas' sales and service division in the U.S. and Canada.

All of the components for the order will be built at Vestas' four Colorado manufacturing facilities in Windsor, Pueblo and Brighton.

Deliveries and commissioning of the Pleasant Valley project is expected to take place in Q4 2015.
