PORTLAND, Ore. - Vestas announced it has received another large wind turbine order for parts to be made at its Colorado manufacturing facilities.

The company said it received a 220 MW order for V100-2.0 MW turbines from EDF Renewable Energy for two wind-energy projects in the Texas panhandle.

"This order...will help to create more American jobs at our blade, tower and nacelle factories in Colorado," said Chris Brown, Vestas' president of sales and service division in the U.S. and Canada.

Vestas has production facilities in Windsor, Brighton and Pueblo. The company said it expects to add hundreds of jobs in the first half of 2014, primarily at its two blade factories in Windsor and Brighton.
