LONGMONT - UQM Technologies Inc. (NYSE MKT: UQM) today said its electric motors and controllers are at the heart of the new ReGen Nautic E-180 all-electric outboard motor introduced this week at the Dusseldorf Boat Show.

The new systems are in addition to series-hybrid systems that ReGen Nautic has developed for yachts, trawlers and sailboats over 50 feet long using UQM components.

"Working with ReGen Nautic, we continue to expand the marine applications for our electric propulsion products," said Eric R. Ridenour, UQM president and CEO.

"Our systems are ideally suited for marine applications, which require exceptional performance, whether used in all-electric or series-hybrid propulsion systems."

The ReGen Nautic E180 uses a UQM PowerPhase Select 145 electric motor and controller system mounted inside a traditional-looking outboard motor package.

"The E180 electric system mounts and operates much like a traditional outboard motor," said Pierre Caouette, ReGen Nautic president and COO. "This provides a viable option for those wanting electric power to significantly reduce operating costs as well as remove their carbon footprint from watersports."
