FORT COLLINS - Jeff Lyng, who served in the Colorado Governor's Energy Office during former Gov. Bill Ritter's administration, has joined the Ritter-led Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University as senior policy advisor.
"Jeff will be a tremendous asset to the center as we continue to assist legislators and policymakers with energy policy discussions around the country in a non-partisan way," Ritter said.
"He joins our group at a critical time, as many states are grappling with increasing pressure to address these issues."
Lyng has been serving with Opower, where he directed the company's market development and regulatory affairs in the Western U.S.
Before joining Opower, Lyng served as renewable energy policy manager in the Governor's Energy Office. He previously worked as an engineer with Xcel Energy, where he consulted on demand-side management and solar programs.
Lyng has served on the boards of Xcel Energy's Innovative Clean Technologies Program, the Colorado Energy Services Coalition and the Colorado Renewable Energy Society. He is past board chair of the American Solar Energy Society.
