FORT COLLINS - IXYS Corp. (Nasdaq: IXYS), a leader in power semiconductors, mixed-signal and digital ICs for power conversion and motion control applications, is introducing the PIM-Mini by its IXYS Colorado division, the company announced.

The PIM-Mini is an air-cooled, pulsed-current source designed to drive laser diodes, bars, arrays or any low-impedence load, IXYS said.

The company said the PIM-Mini is offered in models from 5 amperes to 200 amperes of peak current at up to 48 volts forward voltage and has been optimized for OEM designs including industrial, chemical processing and medical applications.

IXYS said the product's size and flexibility makes it ideal for research, laboratory, scientific and other applications requiring a compact and economical high-performance pulsed driver.

"We are excited to be releasing the PIM-Mini, the next product in our strategy to provide our customers with pulser solutions covering all requirements from R&D and laboratory bench-top systems to application-specific OEM solutions," said Stephen Krausse, IXYS Colorado/DEI general manager.

"Leveraging our pulse-power solutions and design expertise provides our customers with the competitive advantages of a shortened time-to-market and optimal performance of their end-products."
