Tuesday May 21, 2013 0 commentsENGLEWOOD - DISH announced it has added several enhancements to its DISH Anywhere mobile app, including On Demand programming to Android (4.0 and higher) and Apple iOS (5.0 and higher) mobile devices.
All DISH customers can now access On Demand content associated with their programming package regardless of their set-top box model, DISH said.
The update also includes DISH Anywhere integration with Twitter and Facebook, giving customers the ability to share their viewing experiences.
"The ability to watch TV anywhere is only as meaningful as the shows you can view," said Vivek Khemka, DISH's senior VP of product. "By adding access to On Demand programming on iPhones and Android devices, only DISH gives customers the power to view all their shows, including live TV, DVR recording and On Demand at no extra cost."
Remote viewing of live TV and DVR recordings still requires a broadband-connected, Sling-enabled DVR, DISH noted.
The app enhancements also allow users to instantly share their viewing experiences on social networks, DISH said. The new social networking feature enables viewers to post what they are watching in real-time on Facebook and Twitter.
DISH Anywhere users can also take advantage of the new "Audio Only" mode, which allows them to listen to any live or prerecorded show while driving or interacting with other apps on their device.
