This project is part of the Municipality Smart City initiative that has been recognized as one of the most important projects in Europe in the area of Smart City technologies, lighting optimization and city sustainability.

UVAX said ELECNOR will invest around $12 million and it is expected will receive a minimum saving of 65 percent of the current energy consumption (a figure that could reach 80 percent when integrating LED, controls and additional sensors).

UVAX Concepts B-PLC (Broadband Power Line Communication) technology will be responsible for the point-to-point remote control of the 23,000 light points. This new smart lighting solution for the city would also provide an additional 35 percent cost reduction of the lighting infrastructure's maintenance, the company said.

UVAX Concepts said it works with municipalities that participate in different Smart City projects in Europe to control not just lighting but additional devices such as cameras, sensors and digital signage with great results improving the city’s sustainability.

At the same time, UVAX technology is also focused on commercial/industrial facilities such as sport facilities, parking or hangars improving their productivity through energy savings and operation optimization.

UVAX Concepts, a member of Loveland-based The Warehouse Accelerator, develops integrated solutions for the connectivity and remote controls for LED lighting, cameras, sensors and other intelligent devices.
