COLORADO SPRINGS -- Soap Inc., a developer of unified home-based automation technology, today announced the retail release of its Soap Home app that unites users’ home automation devices such as lights and thermostats with computers, tablets and phones.
Soap said it is introducing the first single-user app that communicates with the hub users already own, such as a Netgear or Linksys router, with no new hardware needed.
Soap said through an easy step-by-step process, Soap Home app users can set up and manage multiple brands and devices by different vendors from anywhere in the world.
Users can go to soapapp.us to find a recommended set of devices that will automate their home with a few simple clicks.
Soap already works with Nest, Philips Hue Control and LIFX Bulb Control and is also adding Wink, LightWave RF, ecobee, Iris, Dropcam, Honeywell, Insteon and Homeboy.
Soap Home is available for download from the Apple App Store for a limited time for 99 cents by visiting https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/soap-home/id982664755?mt=8.
Android versions and other updates will be rolled out in coming months, the company said.
“Our goal is to help people simplify the technology they use every day,” said Brandon Jones, Soap’s co-founder. “Users of our app will discover new ease-of-use when it comes to control of their home automation world that has never been available before.”
