Second annual Fort Collins Startup Week set for May 26-31 with full slate of events, networking, fun

FORT COLLINS -- The second annual Fort Collins Startup Week, May 26-31, kicks off with opening ceremonies on Tuesday and a host of speakers, panel discussions, workshops and other networking activities continuing throughout the week.Fort_Collisn_Startup_Week_logoUSE_1

Speakers on Tuesday include Chris Petroff, who will discuss “From Startup to Scale-Up;” Steven Weigler presenting “When Founders Fight;” and a Fireside Chat with Dan Tyre of HubSpot presented by Startup Grind.

A panel discussion at 4 p.m. on Tuesday will examine “Real Failures: Real Lessons Learned from Really Successful Entrepreneurs.”

Startup Week activities continue Wednesday with a Business Appreciation Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. provided by the City of Fort Collins. A highlight of the day will be the first round of the CSU Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge Collegiate Competition on the CSU campus.

Concurrent panels and speakers are set for the remainder of the day at a variety of locations.

Thursday’s activities kick off with “21st Century Agriculture Innovation” at 8 a.m., followed by another full day of presentations and speakers, including a House of Genius Fort Collins session at 11 a.m.

A NoCo Talent Collision/Hiring Fair presented by jobZology and InnovatioNews.com will be held at noon.

Friday’s events begin with a volunteer/mentor appreciation breakfast at 8 a.m. and the first day of the CSU Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge Competition for established companies.

At 3 p.m., the CSU Blue Ocean Enterprises Trolley Pitch Competition will be held aboard an historic Fort Collins Trolley traveling on scenic Mountain Avenue.

Saturday’s activities begin at 9 a.m. with the Larimer County Young Entrepreneurs Showcase. A highlight of the day is the conclusion of the $250,000 CSU Blue Ocean Enterprises Challenge business pitch competition, followed by the CSU Blue Ocean Bash at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday’s activities begin at noon with “Made In Loveland Day” that includes a “Made In Loveland Company Showcase" at 3 p.m. at the Loveland Creator Space in downtown Loveland.
