Nerdwallet: Boulder ranks No. 8 for best city for tech jobs, Springs is No. 12

BOULDER -- Boulder placed No. 8 on the just-released NerdWallet list of “Best Places for Tech Jobs.”

The list analyzed 381 U.S. metro areas with populations of 50,000 or more using data from the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics and the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey.

The top place on the list – not surprisingly -- was Silicon Valley, specifically the San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara area near San Francisco.

Three other Colorado cities placed on the NerdWallet list.

Colorado Springs came in at No. 12, the Denver metro area was ranked No. 25 and Fort Collins placed No. 126.

The top 10 metros on the list were:

1. San Jose-Sunnyvale-Santa Clara, Calif.
2. Huntsville, Ala.
3. Seattle-Tacoma-Bellvue, Wash.
4. California-Lexington Park, Maryland
5. Durham-Chapel Hill, N.C.
6. Raleigh, N.C.
7. Washington D.C.-Arlington-Alexandria Va.
8. Boulder
9. San Francisco-Oakland-Hayward, Calif.
10. Austin-Round Rock, Tex.
