FORT COLLINS -- Fort Collins Startup Week begins today and continues through Friday, Feb. 28.
Techstars Startup Week Fort Collins is a free, 5-day celebration of entrepreneurship, community, and business education.
Led by a diverse group of local entrepreneurs and experts representing the best and brightest business minds in the Fort Collins community, each session is packed with actionable information on the topic at hand.
Sessions and speakers are selected not just for the relevancy and applicability of the content, but also to represent well the social and cultural makeup of Fort Collins’ economy as a whole, organizers said.
Startup Week Fort Collins was created to highlight entrepreneurship as a primary driver for social, cultural, and economic equity, to serve as a platform for local entrepreneurs to share what they know with the city they love, and to empower entrepreneurs of all stripes, backgrounds, and passions to build better businesses.
The first Startup Week Fort Collins was held in 2014 and for two years was run as a for-profit venture. In 2016, the event was rebooted with help from local business leaders, the Innosphere, Colorado State University, and the City of Fort Collins to become a non-profit event in association with Boulder-based techstars.
In 2017, ARTupWeek was introduced and serves as a companion celebration of creative people building up the creative industries, creative environment, and creative community.
This year’s partner events include Techstars Startup Weekend Fort Collins, a high-energy experience designed to take an idea to launch in 3 days. And LaunchNo.CO PitchNo.CO, which showcases some of the best companies in Northern Colorado through a pitch competition.
To apply, companies must be based in Larimer or Weld county, be less than 5 years old, and making less than $500K in revenue annually.
Presenters and sponsors of the 2020 Fort Collins Startup Week include techstars, Poudre River Public Library District, WTF Marketing, the city of Fort Collins, Colorado SBDC, Downtown Creative District, Fort Collins Connexion, Fort Collins BBB, and Rosabella Consulting.
