BOULDER -- Eco-Products,  a leading brand of single-use foodservice products made from renewable and recycled resources, announced it earned the Innovation in Convenience Award from the Foodservice Packaging Institute and QSR magazine.Eco-Products_logoUSE

The award was for Eco-Products’ new compostable plates that allow party-goers to hold food and drink in one hand.

The company’s Gala Cocktail Plates feature a patented finger grip that allows users to hold their food and drink with one hand while being able to eat and greet with the other hand.

Made from sugar cane, the plates are 100 percent renewable and certified as compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute.

Gala plates can be used with almost any size glass, stemware, can or bottle, the company said. They also work well for both right and left-handed guests and with any finger size.

“These are the kinds of products we like best,” said Wendell Simonson, Eco-Products VP. “They’re good for the planet and they’re good for guests.”
