Colorado ranks No. 1 in economy, No. 10 on U.S. News list of Best States

COLORADO -- Colorado takes the top position when it comes to a thriving economy on the 2019 U.S. News & World Report’s “Best States Rankings” list.
But the state ranks No. 10 overall on the annual assessment, which looks at more than 70 metrics, including the economy, health care, education, infrastructure, opportunity, fiscal stability, crime and corrections and the natural environment.
Surprisingly, Colorado received its lowest ranking on the natural environment, coming in at No. 31.
The top 10 states on this year’s list are:
- Washington
- New Hampshire
- Minnesota
- Utah
- Vermont
- Maryland
- Virginia
- Massachusetts
- Nebraska
- Colorado
