DENVER -- Colorado Technology Association (CTA) announced the addition of four board of directors members who will bring new perspectives in the organization’s drive to advance the Colorado tech community.
Together, they represent the dynamic range of companies that call Colorado home and highlight tech’s omnipresence regardless of industry, CTA said.
A central theme of marketing and human capital runs through the new board members, which will be key in attracting and retaining the best talent to the state at a time when there aren’t enough workers to fill all the technical positions available, according to CTA.
“Colorado’s remarkable growth has brought a wave of upstarts and established companies looking to grow their presence,” said Andrea Young, CTA’s president and CEO.
“These board members will help us keep pace through a message that speaks to what makes Colorado a unique place to live and work.”
The new members bring the board to 45 total, and together represent more than 50 percent of Colorado’s tech workforce.
The new members are:
- Scott Heimes, CMO, Sendgrid
- Vernon Irvin, SVP of Sales and Marketing, CenturyLink
- Patrick Jehu, principal, Deloitte Consulting LLP and Deloitte Digital
- Joe Thurman, founder & CEO, Jobber Group.
I love the staff at CTA and a strong supporter. however, a "board" of 45 people is not a workable board. Perhaps they should consider forming an advisory board of all the industries/companies which want to have some input rather than a huge number on the board. IF each of the companies had 10,000 people on their mailing list, and promoted the CTA events, with their employees, and customers AND had a link to the CTA website as a supporter/member of CTA it would be effective. and solidify CTA's prominence.
