WalletHub: Denver ranks No. 4 on list of Best Metro Areas for STEM Professionals in U.S.

DENVER - Denver is ranked No. 4 on WalletHub's 2015 list of the Best Metro Areas for STEM Professionals.

The WalletHub study looked at the 100 biggest metropolitan statistical areas across 11 key metrics that included job openings per capita for STEM graduates and annual median wage growth for STEM jobs.

Colorado Springs, the only other Colorado city on the list, placed No. 18.

The Top 10 cities for STEM professionals are:

  • No. 1--Houston

  • No. 2--Austin

  • No. 3--Raleigh, N.C.

  • No. 4--Denver

  • No. 5--Omaha

  • No. 6--Seattle

  • No. 7--Oklahoma City

  • No. 8--Salt Lake City

  • No. 9--Columbus, OH

  • No. 10--Cincinnati


 

The cities at the bottom of the WalletHub list are:

  • No. 91--Lakeland, Fla.

  • No. 92--El Paso

  • No. 92 (tie)--Stockton

  • No. 94--Cape Coral, Fla.

  • No. 95--Deltona, Fla.

  • No. 96--Oxnard

  • No. 97--Fresno

  • No. 98--North Port, Fla.

  • No. 99--Riverside

  • No. 100--Miami
