FORT COLLINS - OtterBox CEO Brian Thomas has been selected as Mid-Market CEO of the Year for 2014 by New York-based CEO Connection.
The awards are designed to honor the most deserving mid-market companies with annual revenues of between $100 million and $3 billion.
Nominations are accepted through the community and vetted by academic, media and business leaders.
"Collectively, mid-market companies account for $10 trillion annually of the $30 trillion U.S. private sector gross receipts and 30 million jobs, and we need to learn more about how these companies are able to keep their edge in an increasingly competitive market," said Ken Beck, CEO Connection CEO.
"OtterBox, under Thomas' leadership, is a shining testament to the important role mid-market companies play in growing our economy."
Thomas joined OtterBox in 2003 when it was a $2 million niche business manufacturing waterproof boxes and cases for PDAs. He was promoted to director of sales and marketing, chief operating officer, president and finally as CEO.
As CEO, Thomas is responsible for leading global expansion efforts. OtterBox grew its revenue by more than 1,000 percent during the last three years and employs more than 800 in the U.S.
Thomas will be honored during the CEO Connection Mid-Market Awards on Oct. 20 at the Wharton School in Philadelphia.
