DENVER -- ViaWest, a leading hybrid IT solutions provider in North America, today announced the launch of Cloud Recovery – DRaaS, a Disaster Recovery as a Service solution that helps protect businesses against data losses by simplifying how they replicate and recover data.
A recent Gartner report showed only 6 percent of companies survive longer than two years after a major data loss, 43 percent were immediately put out of business and an additional 51 percent closed their doors within two years.
ViaWest said its Cloud Recovery – DRaaS can help protect companies by increasing the speed at which they can recover from an outage. ViaWest said the solution allows companies to quickly and easily replicate their business-critical data at a secure ViaWest facility regardless of whether their production site is located on premises, at a ViaWest data center or at another provider’s data center.
“We have architected our Cloud Recovery – DRaaS solution from the perspective of CIOs and IT managers who bear the tremendous responsibility of keeping companies functioning 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year,” said Jason Carolan, ViaWest’s CTO.
“Extended downtime and the inability to recover lost data can be the difference between survival and bankruptcy. We understand that pressure, and Cloud Recovery – DRaaS gives CIOs and IT professionals another tool to help protect their companies.”
ViaWest said the new product is a natural extension of its existing cloud offerings and enhances its Hybrid IT Solution set of co-location, cloud, compliance and security services.
IT managers can restore their networks with RPOs from minutes and RTOs from one hour, each based on the complexity of the customer’s environment, ViaWest said.
