Steve Sloan has been named chief product officer and Scott Heimes has been named chief marketing officer, SendGrid said.

Both men bring a wealth of leadership experience and domain expertise to SendGrid from prior roles at rapidly growing, publicly traded tech companies, SendGrid said.

“SendGrid strengthened its executive team significantly in 2015 with the appointment of Yancey Spruill as CFO and COO, Craig Kaes as our VP of engineering and now today with the announcement of Steve and Scott joining,” said Sameer Dholakia, SendGrid CEO.

“With these appointments, I firmly believe we now have one of the premier leadership teams in the SaaS market. The combined experience and skill set of this team will have a huge impact on the continued growth and acceleration of SendGrid in 2016 and for many years to come.”

Sloan will be responsible for leading product strategy, UI/UX, and development of SendGrid’s product roadmap, the company said.

“I am thrilled to join the SendGrid team during this exciting time for the company,” Sloan said. “We are focused on delivering more innovative experiences for our customers with new products like Threads and expanding the capabilities of our leading email platform.”

Heimes will be responsible for extending SendGrid’s brand, driving demand for its products and services and leading overall marketing operations.

“Since its inception, SendGrid firmly established itself as a leading brand among the developer and SMB communities with transactional email,” Heimes said. “As we expand our product strategy and evolve into a leading email engagement platform, I look forward to extending and strengthening our brand among marketers, partners and the broader global business community.”
