DENVER -- Colorado-based RavenWindow announced it will support a team from UC Davis during the Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon set for Oct. 5-9 and Oct. 12-15 in Denver.ravenwindow-logo

The collegiate competition challenges student teams to design and build full-sized solar-powered houses, and RavenWindow will support the UC Davis team as they strive to supplement energy-efficient technologies in their design, Our H2OUSE.

By installing RavenWindow’s Gen3 thermochromic smart window technology in the JeldWen manufactured windows of Our H2OUSE, the UC Davis team aims to improve occupant health and productivity.

“RavenWindow’s transitioning technology is a natural fit for instances like the Solar Decathlon,” said Sarah Read, RavenWindow sales and marketing coordinator.

“They contribute significantly to home efficiency in a ‘set and forget’ manner without compromising the design of the home or the view from within.”

Open to the public, community members are encouraged to tour the team houses to witness how easy it is to save energy, water and money by making smart, sustainable choices in their own home.

A winner will be selected based on best blend of design excellence and smart energy production as well as innovation, market potential and energy and water efficiency.
