Event organizers said attendees can build a community arts project, drive Bibli robots, paint with Spheros, sew a Halloween costume, interact with Star Wars characters, check out the creations from the Colo/Wy Lego group and build their own.

Pokey the fire-breathing dragon, Human Foosball and the Nerdy Derby will also be there.

Inventors participating will be judged for best new invention and youth entrepreneurs will sell their wares in this all-ages, hands-on maker festival.

Inventors with an idea who need help to get to market can participate in the Inventors Bootcamp on Saturday morning.

Tickets and information are at www.nocomakerfaire.com .

“The NoCo Mini Maker Faire is full of exciting and fun opportunities for creators of all ages to be inspired by hands-on making from technology to crafts,” said Elise Van Dyne, Colorado Maker Hub founder.

“Every year we see collaborations spring up, kids engaging in ambitious projects, job offers made and creativity sparked for new products and projects. The maker movement is a catalyst for innovations in everything from education to entrepreneurship.”

VanDyne said anyone who would like to help underserved families attend the faire can donate tickets by clicking on “attend” to purchase Inspire tickets.

Kicking off the weekend Friday night, Oct.7, is Sparks & Spirits, a craft distillery tasting at The Ranch Event Center featuring 15 distillers pouring their spirits alongside creations made from fire, light, and sound.

In addition to sampling spirits and cocktails, visitors will experience a Fire Breathing Dragon and Dragon’s breath popcorn, control Star Trek’s Artemis bridge, enjoy music and light performances from artists such as Mythica – all benefiting arts and youth maker programs from nonprofit Colorado Maker Hub.

The NoCo events kick of a Week of Making across Colorado. For more information, visit Colorado Maker Week at www.coloradomakerhub.org.
